Camp
Monterey is located on 800 acres of woods and grasslands with trails for
hiking and riding horses. At an altitude of 2000 feet, summer days are
warm and nights are cool. The camp is situated on a private Lake where
we swim, canoe and sail.

All the buildings at Camp Monterey are rustic. They are nestled in the
woods, each with a view of the lake.
The Camp Office is
at one side of the "Fun Field" which is divided into
different activity areas: a volleyball court, campfire circle, and the
flag line circle.

The Dining Hall is our gathering place
three times a day, where we sit in cabin groups and eat home cooked meals
family style.

The Lodge is designed as a place for teams
to work on and present their parties and for other events like Unit parties
and folk
dancing.
There
is a Costume Room on one end of the Lodge where girls
may go to play dress up or pick costumes from past parties and pageants
for any event
that arises.
The cabins are arranged by Units from
the youngest to the oldest. A camper is "promoted" to the
next camp according to her
grade at school.

The oldest girls are the "J.C.'s."
They are sophomores and juniors in high school. They are leaders
in their teams and teach a
class in the activity area in
which they excel as well as take classes. "J.C." stands
for Junior Counselor, and they are getting ready to become counselors.
